Commercial fellings, 4/2025

In April, 4.0 million cubic meters of roundwood was harvested for industrial use. The volume of removals was the same as in April of the previous year and 6% lower than the five-year average. From January to April, a total of 23.6 million cubic meters of industrial roundwood was harvested. This was 7% more than a year earlier

Industrial wood

  • The removals of sawlogs was 1.5 million cubic metres and pulpwood removals 2.5 million cubic metres.
  • Industrial roundwood removals from non-industrial private forests totaled 2.9 million cubic meters and a decrease of 6% compared to the previous year.
  • Industrial roundwood removals from forest industry companies’ forests and state-owned forests was 1.1 million cubic metres, up by 18% from the previous year.

Energywood

  • Energywood removals was 0.4 million cubic metres. Of this amount 78% were delimbed stems and whole-trees. In January-April, a total of 2.4 million cubic meters of energy wood had been harvested.
