Changes and corrections to commercial fellings statistics
This page shows the changes to the statistics from 2020 onwards and the revisions from January 2022 onwards, such as mergers of statistics and name changes. A correction is a revision to the content of a statistical release made after this release date. Major revisions will also be published in an additional release.
Correction of statistical data 14.5.2025

Error in the statistical database table:
- Industrial roundwood removals by month 2025/3, error affects the harvesting volumes of the standing sales (-2%) and delivery sales (+9%) removals volume.
- Harvesting volumes of energy wood per month 2025/03, error affects the harvesting volumes of the standing sales (-11%) and delivery sales (+18%) removals volume.
The error was caused by a mistake in the data.
Change in statistics 6.3.2025
Data collection on labour force and forestry machines in harvesting of industrial roundwood ended in 2024. The tables have been transferred to the archive.

In the statistical database table Industrial roundwood removals by forest ownership category and region 2022, the grand total for Åland was corrected due to a typing error in the column, corrected figure 297 (the incorrect figure was 217).

Error in the calculation process for hardwood logs and pulp in January-September. The correction increased the recorded harvests for this period: hardwood logs by 6%, hardwood pulpwood by 4%, and the total amount of harvests by 1%.

Change in statistics 10.3.2021
Industrial roundwood removals by region and the statistics on industrial roundwood removals and labour force were merged into the statistics on commercial fellings on 10.3.2021.
At the same time, the name of the statistics was changed to commercial fellings. This term refers to unspecified or all wood (industrial and energy wood) and their market-based harvesting (volumes harvested, labour, machinery). Benchmarks are, for example, Total wood consumption and Wood in energy generation statistics.
