Sustainable practices in biogas production

The KEBIO project builds recommendations for best practices in the processing chains of different biogas plants. The aim is to ensure minimal losses to the environment in each processing step. The main result of the project is a guidebook to best practices on biogas plants. Also, a plan to include biogas production to Finnish agricultural greenhouse gas emission inventory will be made. The project results will enable implementation of the best practices on biogas plants, setting them as a prerequisite for environmental permitting and support mechanisms, and ensuring efficient nutrient and carbon recycling with minimal losses.
