Utilised Agricultural Area 2021, regional preliminary data
The first preliminary data on field use in 2021 were published on 21 June 2021. The information has been updated and, on 14 July 2021, cultivation areas by ELY center are also available. The data are based on the growth block data reported in the main support application for farms belonging to the register of agricultural and horticultural enterprises. Changes from previous year (%):
• cereal area, 1,063,000 hectares, decreased by 23,000 hectares (-2%)
• barley area 448,000 ha, decreased (-2%),
• oat area, 332,000 ha, decreased (-5%),
• wheat area, 218,000 ha, increased (+ 4%),
• rye area, 18,000 ha, decreased (-7%),
• pea area, 23,000 hectares, decreased (-8%)
• bean field, 12,000 ha, decreased (-31%)
• caraway area, 18,500 ha, decreased (-8%)
• potato area, 20,000 ha, decreased slightly (-4%)
• turnip rape area, 30,000 ha, rose sharply (+ 157%)
• rapeseed area, 8,000 ha fell sharply (-24%)
• forage area, 797,000 ha, increased (+ 2%)
• fallow area, 214,000 ha, increased (+3%)
The areas will be published as final in February 2022, when municipal areas and number of holdings will also be available. Corresponding data from previous years are available in the statistical database.
