Utilised Agricultural Area 2021, regional preliminary data

Arable areas in 2021 based on the situation on 20 June 2021. The next adjustment to the preliminary information will be made based on more extensive data on 14 July.

In 2021, the most significant changes in the utilized agricultural area in Finland (2.3 million hectares);

• the cultivated area of cereals, 1,063,000 hectares, remains half of the entire area – will decrease by 20,000 hectares;
• The sown area of barley, 448,000 hectares (-1 %) and oats, 331,000 hectares (-5%) wheat 220,000 ha (-12%) increased while area of rye 18,000 hectares (- 6%) decreased
• the area under peas (23,000 ha) will decrease by 7 %
• the area under caraway (18,500 ha) will decrease by 6%
• the area under turnip rape (30,000 ha) will increase by 58%
• the area under rape (8,300 ha) will decrease by 23%
