Utilised Agricultural Area 2020, regional preliminary data

Arable areas in 2020 based on the situation on 14 July 2020.

In 2020, the most significant changes in the utilised agricultural area in Finland (2.3 million hectares);

• the cultivated area of cereals, 1,086,000 hectares, remains half of the entire area - increased by 20,000 hectares;
• The sown area of barley, 458,000 hectares (+1%) and oats, 348,000 hectares (+9%) wheat 210,000 ha (+2%) increased while area of rye 19,800 hectares (-48%) decreased
• the area under peas (24,900 ha) increased by 79%
• the area under potatoes (21,200 ha) decreased by 2%
• the area under turnip rape and oilseed rape (29,700 ha) decreased by 19%
