Utilised Agricultural Area 2014, regional preliminary data

Arable areas in 2014 based on the situation on 26 June 2014.

In 2014, the most significant changes in the use of the arable area in Finland (2.2 million hectares) will be that the grain cultivation area will grow by 12,000 hectares, the turnip rape area will decrease by 8,000 hectares and the fallow area will decrease by 7,000 hectares.

  • Totaling 1.2 million hectares, the grain cultivation area will grow by 1 per cent from 2013
  • At 530,000 hectares, the barley area will be the same as in 2013
  • At 271,000 hectares, the wheat area will be highest in 50 years
  • At 44,000 hectares, the turnip rape and rape area will be lowest in 30 years
