Utilised Agricultural Area 2014

In 2014, the most significant changes in the use of the arable area in Finland (2.2 million hectares) was that the grain cultivation area grow by 14,600 hectares, the turnip rape area decreased by 8,000 hectares and the fallow area decreased by 7,000 hectares.

  • Totaling 1.2 million hectares, the grain cultivation area grow by 1 per cent from 2013
  • At 532,000 hectares, the barley area was the same as in 2013
  • At 272,000 hectares, the wheat area was highest in 30 years
  • At 43,500 hectares, the turnip rape and rape area was lowest in 30 years
