Utilised Agricultural Area 2012, regional preliminary data

The arable land areas for 2012 are advance information on 28 June 2012

  •     With regard to the use of Finland’s cultivated area of 2.3 million hectares, the largest changes in 2012 were:  increase in the cultivation area of grains (+47,000 hectares) and decrease in the turnip rape area (- 24,000 hectares)
  •     The cultivation area of grains, 1,150,000 hectares, has increased by 4% compared to 2011.
  •     The barley area, 501,000 hectares, is 8% larger than in 2011.
  •     The turnip rape area, 53,000 hectares, is approximately one-third smaller than in 2011.
  •     The reed canary grass area, 11,000 hectares, is approximately 30% smaller than in 2011.
