Statistics on the purchase, use and storage of cereals and protein and oilseeds, Q1 2023

In the first quarter of 2023, around 350 million kilos of cereals, of which around 11 million kilos were organically produced, entered the market from farms. 

During the first quarter of 2023, industry and trade bought directly from farms

• 73 million kilograms of bread wheat
• 23 million kilos of feed wheat
• 11 million kilos of rye
• 87 million kilos of feed barley
• 33 million kilos of malting barley
• 70 million kilograms of food oats
• 52 million kilograms of feed oats
• rapeseed and colza 12 million kilograms
• peas 12 million kilograms
• 1,5 million kilograms of broad beans

Domestic industry used a total of 313 million kilograms of cereals, of which

• 109 million kilos for food use
• 130 million kilos for animal feed
• 75 million kilos for other uses.
