Number of livestock in spring of 2020 (provisional)

• The number of cattle at start of May 2020 was 846,400, which is one percent less than a year ago.
• The number of dairy cow was 259,600. The number of dairy cows decreased by one percent during a year.
• The number of pigs increased slightly from the previous year to about 1.08 million pigs.  
• There were about 140.000 sheep on 1,290 farms.

Number of poultry and number of livestock by municipality and by herd size are published in spring 2021.
