Number of livestock in spring of 2019

- The number of cattle at start of May 2019 was 857,600, which is three percent less than a year ago.
- The number of dairy cow was 262,300. The number of dairy cows decreased by three percent during a year.
- The number of pigs went down from the previous year to about 1.07 million pigs.
- The poultry included altogether 14.4 million animals on 1,070 farms. There were about four million laying hens and nine million broilers.
- There were about 145.000 sheep on 1,350 farms.
