- About 2,297 million litres of milk was produced in 2017, which is one per cent less than previous year.
- Milk producers totalled 6,810 at the end of year. Number of farms decreased 7% during last year.
- Milk production decreased almost in all ELY Centres. Most production decreased in North Karelia and Southeast Finland. Milk production increased in North Ostrobothnia, Kainuu and North Savo.
- Milk production decreased by 2% in support areas AB and 1% in support area C.
- The largest milk producer municipalities were: Kuopio, Kiuruvesi, Kurikka and Kokkola.
