  • About 2,320 million litres of milk was produced in 2016, which is slightly less than previous year.  
  • Milk producers totalled 7,318 at the end of year. 575 farms (-7%) gave up milk production during last year.
  • The average volume of milk supplied to dairies by a farm increased to 296,400 litres.
  • Milk production increased by 1% in support areas AB and decreased 0.5% in support area C.
  • The largest milk producer municipalities were Kurikka, Kuopio, Kiuruvesi and Kokkola.
