Milk Production by Area 2014/2015

About 2,298 million litres of milk was produced in the quota period 2014/15, which is 3 per cent more than previous quota period.
Milk producers totalled 8,300 at the end of the quota period. About 400 farms (5%) gave up milk production during the quota period.
The average volume of milk supplied to dairies by a farm increased to 265,200 litres.
Milk production increased almost in all ELY Centre regions except in Uusimaa and Kaakkois-Suomi.
Milk production increased by 2% in support areas A and B and 3% in support area C.
The largest producers were the same as in the previous period: Kokkola, Kiuruvesi, Nivala, Kuopio and Vieremä.
