Milk Production by Area 2010/2011

  • In quota period 2010/11, the volume of dairy milk amounted to 2,222 million litres.
  • At the end of the quota period, there were about 10,450 milk producers, a year-on-year decline of approximately six per cent.
  • Production grew the most in North Ostrobothnia, North Savo and Åland.
  • Milk production rose by 0.5% in support area C. Production declined by 2% in support areas A and B.
  • The greatest milk production volume was seen in Kokkola, where it rose to 52 million litres, followed by Kiuruvesi (47 million litres) and Nivala (40 million litres).
