Milk and Milk Product Statistics, 3/2024 (provisional)

Milk production in January-March was almost the same as in the same period a year ago.  In March, production was just under 187 million liters. 

The production of liquid dairy products and cheese decreased, while butter production increased.

Compared to the previous year in January-March 2024:

  • Milk production: 0% (one day more in February this year than last year due to the leap year)
  • Production of fresh products: - 2%
    • Drinking milk -2%
    • Buttermilk -3%
    • Cream -7%
    • Sour cream products - 5%
    • Curd milk - 4%
    • Yoghurts -3 %
    • Other fresh products +3 %
  • Butter production: +1 %
  • Cheese production: - 4%

Compared to the same time last year in March 2024:

  • Cheese stocks: + 5%
  • Butter stocks: - 3%
