Meat production, year 2021

  • Last year meat production amounted to approximately 411 million kilograms, slightly more than in 2020.
  • Beef production decreased by one per cent to 86 million kilograms.
  • Nearly an equal volume of pork was produced, 176 million kilograms.
  • The production of poultry meat continued to increase last year and was about 147 million kilograms. Production increased by one per cent from the previous year.
  • Mutton production decreased by eight per cent to 1.3 million kilograms.
  • Organic meat production amounted to 4.6 million kilograms, 3 per cent more than in 2020.
