Meat Production by Area 2013 (beef and pork)

  • The same amount of beef was produced last year as in the previous year, just over 80 million kilos.
  • Over half of all beef was produced on farms in the Employment and Economic Development Centre regions of Northern Ostrobothnia, Northern Savonia, Southern Ostrobothnia and Ostrobothnia
  • As in the previous year, the largest amounts of beef were produced in Kiuruvesi (just under 3 million kg).
  • 194 million kilos of pork were produced, which is about one per cent more than in 2012.
  • The largest pork-producing municipalitity was Huittinen (just over 12 million kilos of pork).
