Meat production 12/2023 (provisional)

Production of all types of meat fell in December, with 7% less meat produced than in the same period last year.

According to preliminary statistics, meat production in 2023 was just under 389 million kg (- 4%). Beef production increased while pork, poultry and sheep meat production decreased.

In December 2023, year-on-year:

• Beef production: - 8 %
• Pork production: - 8 %
• Poultry meat production: - 5 %
• Mutton production: - 14 %

In 2023 compared to previous year:

• Beef production: + 2 %
• Pork production: - 7 %
• Poultry meat production: - 2 %
• Mutton production: - 9 %
