Horticultural Statistics 2021: Energy Consumption in Greenhouse Enterprises

The total energy consumption of greenhouse companies was 1 706 GWh year 2021. There was a increase of 102 GWh compared to the year 2017.
Electricity consumption of greenhouse companies was 619 GWh year 2021. There was a increase of 20 GWh (+3%) compared to the year 2017.
Energy chips (311 GWh) was the most common heating fuel.
Purchased heat energy was 274 GWh and half of it was renewable wood/field biomass. Renewable energy accounted for a total of 56% of heating energy.
Consumption of heavy fuel oil fell to 11 GWh (-73%) and light fuel oil 54 GWh (-16%).
