In September, 5.5 million cubic meters of roundwood was harvested for industrial use. The volume of removals was 5% lower than in September of the previous year. From January to September, a total of 45.5 million cubic meters of industrial roundwood was harvested. This was 1.6 million cubic metres, or 4% more than during the same period in the previous year.

Industrial roundwood

  • Sawlog removals totalled 2.6 million cubic metres and pulpwood removals 3.0 million cubic metres
  • Industrial roundwood removals from non-industrial private forests totaled 4.4 million cubic meters, marking a 5% decrease compared to the previous year.
  • Industrial roundwood removals from forest industry companies’ forests and state-owned forests totalled 1.1 million cubic metres, down by 5% from the previous year.

Energywood

  • Energywood removals totalled 0.6 million cubic metres. Of this amount, 35% consisted of delimbed stems and whole trees. From January to September a total of 5.4 million cubic meters of energywood had been harvested.
