In August, 5.2 million cubic meters of roundwood was harvested for industrial use. The volume of removals was 6% higher than in August of the previous year. From January to August, a total of 40.0 million cubic meters of industrial roundwood was harvested. This was 1.9 million cubic metres, or five percent more than during the same period in the previous year.

Industrial roundwood

  • Sawlog removals totalled 2.4 million cubic metres and pulpwood removals 2.8 million cubic metres
  • Industrial roundwood removals from non-industrial private forests totaled 4.1 million cubic meters, marking a 9% increase compared to the previous year.
  • Industrial roundwood removals from forest industry companies’ forests and state-owned forests totalled 1.1 million cubic metres, down by 4% from the previous year.

Energywood

  • Energywood removals totalled 0.6 million cubic metres. Of this amount 37% were delimbed stems and whole-trees. In January-August a total of 4.8 million cubic meters of energywood had been harvested.
