In September, a total of 4.6 million cubic metres of roundwood was harvested for industrial use. Compared to last year's September, the removal volume was one-fifth or 1.3 million cubic metres lower. In January-September, a total of 42.7 million cubic metres of industrial wood was harvested. This removal volume was down 7% from the previous year and from the five-year average.

  • Sawlogs accounted for 2.2 million m³ and pulpwood for 2.4 million m³ of the industrial roundwood removals.
  • Industrial roundwood removals from non-industrial private forests were 3.5 million cubic metres, down by 26% from the year before.
  • The felling volume in forest industry companies’ forests and state-owned forests was 1.1 million cubic metres, down by 4% from the year before.
  • Energywood removals totalled 496,000 cubic metres, with delimbed stems and whole trees comprising 42% of this amount.
