In October, a total of 5.4 million cubic metres of roundwood was harvested for industrial use. Compared to last year's October, the removal volume was 13% or 0.8 million cubic metres lower. In January-October, just over 48 million cubic metres of industrial wood had been harvested.

  • Sawlogs accounted for 2.7 million m³ and pulpwood for 2.7 million m³ of the industrial roundwood removals. Compared with the average in October in the previous five years, sawlog removals were 7% and pulpwood removals 15% lower.
  • Industrial roundwood removals from non-industrial private forests were 4.2 million cubic metres, down by 18% from the year before.
  • The felling volume in forest industry companies’ forests and state-owned forests was 1.2 million cubic metres, down by 10% from the year before.
  • Energywood removals totalled 439,000 cubic metres, with delimbed stems and whole trees comprising 56% of this amount.
