In April, 3.4 million cubic meters of wood was harvested for industrial use. The harvesting volume was 15 percent lower than in April of the previous year and one fifth lower than the average for the previous five years. From January to April, a total of 21.7 million cubic meters of industrial wood had been harvested, which was eight percent less than a year earlier.

Industrial roundwood

  • In April, 1.5 million cubic meters of sawlogs was harvested (-5% from the previous year) and 2.0 million cubic meters of pulpwood (-21%).
  • From private forests, 2.5 million cubic meters of industrial roundwood was harvested (-12%).
  • From forest industry companies’ own forests and state-owned forests, 0.9 million cubic meters of industrial roundwood was harvested (-22%).

Energywood

  • In April, 0.4 million cubic meters of energywood was harvested (-3%). Of this amount, 78 percent consisted of delimbed stems and whole trees.
  • From January to April, a total of 2.2 million cubic meters of energywood had been harvested (-13%).
