Background information on the statistics

Preliminary data on commercial fellings are based on monthly reports from around 25 companies. The final statistics is compiled using data from over 120 companies.

Commercial fellings includes the volumes of industrial roundwood and energywood harvested for industrial use or export. Total removals, i.e. all removals of stemwood, includes commercial fellings, firewood for small houses and wood for forest owners' own use. The final annual statistics on Commercial fellings, as well as the statistics on Total removals and drain will be published in April.
