In November, a total of 4.8 million cubic metres of industrial roundwood was harvested, which was five percent less than in November of the previous year. The November harvest volume of industrial roundwood last fell below five million cubic metres in 2015. From January to November, a total of 56.2 million cubic metres of industrial roundwood had been harvested, which was two percent more than in the previous year.

Industrial roundwood

  • In November, 2.5 million cubic metres of sawlogs were harvested (–4% from the previous year) and 2.4 million cubic metres of pulpwood (–5%). 
  • From private forests, 3.8 million cubic metres of industrial roundwood were harvested (–4%). 
  • From forest industry companies’ own forests and state-owned forests, 1.1 million cubic metres of industrial roundwood were harvested (–5%). 

Energywood

  • In November, 0.5 million cubic metres of energywood were harvested. Of this amount, 48 percent consisted of delimbed stems and whole trees.
  • From January to November, a total of 6.4 million cubic metres of energywood had been harvested.
