In January 2026, a total of 5.8 million cubic metres of industrial roundwood was harvested. This removal volume was down 12% from the previous year and down 2% from the five-year January average. 

  • Sawlogs accounted for 2.5 million m³ and pulpwood for 3.3 million m³ of the industrial roundwood removal.
  • Industrial roundwood removals from non-industrial private forests were 4.8 million cubic metres, being 12% less than the previous year. 
  • The felling volume in forest industry companies’ forests and state-owned forests was 1.1 million cubic metres, down by 11% from the year before.
  • Energywood removals totalled 538,000 cubic metres, being 18% less than the previous year. Of this amount 76% were delimbed stems and whole-trees.
