  • Per capita grain consumption was 80.2 kilos, of which wheat accounted for 48 kilos.
  • Vegetable consumption remained at 2007 levels – 68.6 kilos per person.
  • Poultry consumption exceeded beef consumption. An average of 18.5 kilos of poultry was eaten, while 0.3 fewer kilos of beef were consumed.
  • Egg consumption stood at 9.6 kilos of eggs per person.
  • The average milk consumption per person was 137.2 litres, of which just over half was semi-skimmed and just over a third was skimmed milk.
  • Butter consumption was 2.8 kilos per person, while 7.5 kilos of margarine and 2.9 kilos of fat blends were consumed per person.
