- Finland’s total field area was 2,296,000 hectares in 2009.
- 1,203,100 hectares were sown with grain – half of Finland’s total field area.
- 48,300 fewer hectares were under grain than in 2008.
- The area under winter grain was the smallest of the decade: winter wheat 16,400 and winter rye 11,300 hectares.
- The broad bean was the fastest riser of the year: 2,300 hectares (+205%).
- While rye was the biggest faller of the year: 16,400 hectares (–31%).
