Utilised Agricultural Area 2024 (final figures) and 2025 (preliminary)

By 2025, cereals will be grown on around one million hectares of Finland's nearly two million hectares of arable land. One third of the arable land will be under forage. The area under peas increased significantly to about 45,000 ha. The area of winter wheat increased by about 30% and the area of winter barley by about 24%. The area of oats decreased by about 27,000 ha and the area of barley by just over 3,000 ha. The areas of rye wheat and buckwheat increased.

  • Fodder peas 39 000 ha (+11%)
  • Broad beans 6 000 ha (+2%)
  • Canola 46 000 ha (+36%)
  • Rapeseed 11 000 ha (+53%)
  • Caraway 21 000 ha (+6%)
  • Grass less than 5 years old (forage grass) 789 000 ha (+0%)

Statistical data on crop species and crop groups are also available by province in the preliminary statistics and by municipality in the final statistics. The number of agricultural holdings is published only in the final statistics.
