Utilised Agricultural Area 2017, preliminary data

Arable areas in 2017 based on the situation on 15 June 2017. The next adjustment to the preliminary information will be made based on more extensive data on 14 July.

In 2017, the most significant changes in the use of the arable area in Finland (2.3 million hectares) ;

the cultivated area of cereals, 1,075,000 hectares, remains half of the entire area, but will decrease by 34,000 hectares;
the area under oats, 337,000 hectares, will increase by 2%, but area under barley (439,000 ha) will decrease by 10% - while area under remains stable (221,000 ha),
the area under broad beans (23,000 ha) will increase by 37%
the area under turnip rape and oilseed rape (66,000 ha) will increase by 7%
