Utilised Agricultural Area 2013, preliminary data

Arable areas in 2013, based on the situation on 30 May 2013. The next adjustment to the preliminary information will be made based on more extensive data on 27 June.

 

In 2013, the most significant changes in the use of the arable area in Finland (2.3 million hectares) will be that the grain cultivation area will grow by 42,000 hectares, the turnip rape area will decrease by 17,000 hectares and the silage grass cultivation area will decrease by 14,000 hectares.

  • Totalling 1.2 million hectares, the grain cultivation area will grow by 4 per cent from 2012.
  • At 534,000 hectares, the barley area will be 6 per cent larger than in 2012.
  • The turnip rape area will be about one-third smaller than in 2012, totalling 36,000 hectares.
  • The sugar beet area will grow by about 6 per cent from 2012.
