Use of Crops on Farms 2020–2021 (provisional) and 2019-2020 (final statistics)

  • The 2020 cereal harvest totalled 3.3 million tons.
  • More than half of the cereal harvest was sold to the market during the crop year, with oats having the highest volume of more than 715,000 tons.
  • Most of the cereals remaining at farms, i.e. 1.2 million tons, was used as feed, with barley having the highest volume of approximately 730,000 tons.
  • Some 260,000 tons of cereals were used for sowing during autumn 2020 and spring 2021.
  • Roughly one fifth of the 2020 harvest was in stocks at farms at the beginning of the next crop year on 1 July 2021.

Use statistics of the harvest at farms over the crop year 1 July 2020 – 30 June 2021 are estimates and will be specified in September 2022.
