Use of Crops on Farms 2019–2020 (provisional) and 2018-2019 (final statistics)

  • The 2019 cereal harvest totalled 4 million tons.
  • More than half of the cereal harvest was sold to the market during the crop year, with barley having the highest volume of 768,000 tons.
  • Most of the cereals remaining at farms, i.e. 1.1 million tons, was used as feed, with barley having the highest volume of approximately 675,000 tons.
  • Some 274,000 tons of cereals were used for sowing during autumn 2019 and spring 2020.
  • Roughly one fifth of the 2019 harvest was in stocks at farms at the beginning of the next crop year on 1 July 2020.

Use statistics of the harvest at farms over the crop year 1 July 2019 – 30 June 2020 are estimates and will be specified in September 2021.
