According to preliminary data, the gross stumpage earnings of forest owners were EUR 1.86 billion in 2015. The earnings of private forest owners totalled EUR 1.57 billion, and those of the state EUR 0.28 billion.
The earnings in dropped by EUR 67 million (–3.5%) from the previous year, but due to lower producer prices, earnings increased by 1.6% in real terms, when the prices were converted using a wholesale price index. The earnings of private forest owners dropped by EUR 50 million and those of the forestry industry and the state by EUR 17 million.
The shares of various roundwood assortments of the earnings remained almost unchanged. The most important assortment was spruce log (37%), the most important tree species was spruce (45%) and the most important pulpwood assortment was pine pulpwood (12%). Sawtimber accounted for 71% of the earnings (+1 percentage point).
