Statistics on cereals purchase and used by industry and trade, Q2 2015

During the crop year 1 July 2014 to 30 June 2015: 

  • Industry and traders purchased a total of 2.2 billion kilos of cereals and 44 million kilos of rape and turnip rape from farms.
  • The amounts purchased from farms included 860 million kilos of barley, 680 million kilos of wheat, 570 million kilos of oats and 50 million kilos of rye.
  • A total of 1.4 billion kilos of Finnish and imported cereals were used by relevant industries.
  • 620 million kilos of cereals were used for animal feed production and 430 million kilos for food production. 320 million kilos were used for other industrial production.

At the end of June 2015:

  • Trade and industry stocks contained a combined total of 420 million kilos of cereals and a combined total of 4.5 million kilos of rape and turnip rape.
  • The cereal stocks contained 140 million kilos of barley, 130 million kilos of oats, 110 million kilos of wheat and 40 million kilos of rye.

The cereal stocks 30.6.2015 and 31.12.2014 have been corrected 23.9.2015.
