Number of livestock in spring of 2020

The number of cattle at start of May 2020 was 846,400, which is one percent less than a year ago.
The number of dairy cows was 259,600. The number of dairy cows decreased by one percent during a year.
The number of pigs increased from the previous year to about 1.09 million pigs.
The poultry included altogether 13.6 million animals. There were 3.8 million laying hens, 8.5 million broilers and 1.3 million other poultry.
The number of sheep decreased and there were about 140.000 sheep.
