Number of livestock in spring of 2013

- The number of pigs, poultry and sheep grew from last year. The number of horses on the farms dropped slightly.
- The poultry included altogether 12 million animals on 1,200 farms. There were 3.4 million laying hens and 6.9 million broilers.
- The number of pigs increased from the previous year to about 1.3 million pigs. The number of sows decreased by 6% from previous year.
- There were about 135.000 sheep on 1,430 farms.
