- The number of cattle at start of December was 903,360.
- The number of dairy cows, calves and bulls increased, whereas that of suckler cows and heifers and bulls decreased.
- The number of pigs went down from the previous year to about 1.26 million pigs.
- The number of sows decreased by 7 per cent during the year.
