Number of bovine animals in spring 2022 (provisional)

• There were 828,800 cattle in spring 2022, which is two percent less than a year ago. The number of suckler cows, bulls and heifers increased whereas that cows and cattle under 1 year decreased.
• The number of dairy cows was 247,900 which is two percent less than a year ago.
• The number of suckler cows increased, and there were about 64,600 suckler cows.

Reference day for cattle is 21^st of April 2022. Previous year it has been 1^st of May.
