- Approximately 11 per cent of all farms imported manure. This means that the number of importing farms was higher than that of exporting farms.
- Dairy cattle and pig farms exported a total of 1.3 million tonnes of manure.
- High volumes of manure were transferred between farms, particularly in the regions of ELY Centres of Southwest Finland, Southern Ostrobothnia and Ostrobothnia.
- Approximately two million tons of manure were transported between farms.
- Composting solid manure was the most common processing method to change the properties of manure. It was used on nearly four per cent of all farms.
- Other methods, such as separation, aeration or fermentation, were used by less than 0.5 per cent of all farms.
- The average proportion of processed manure from all manure on farms was two thirds or higher, depending on the method.
