Description

The statistics is based on the Farm Structure Survey. The data is comparable with all corresponding statistics of the European Economic Area.

Information content

The statistics contain information about the livestock buildings, grazing and about the export and import of manure of agricultural and horticultural enterprises as well as about the treatment and storage of manure on farms. 

Classifications used

The preliminary statistics cover the whole of Finland.

Data collection methods and sources

The statistics are based on data from the Farm Structure Survey, which is obtained partially from a survey and partially from registers. The data on the export and import of manure and on the processing of manure on the farm are from the survey.

Update frequency

The Farm Structure Survey is conducted every 3–4 years. Information about livestock buildings and manure processing is not included in the data content of every structural survey.

Preparation and publication schedule

Preliminary data for the statistics is completed by the end of the year following the survey year, and final data is completed approximately six months after the publication of preliminary data.

Time series

Farm Structure Surveys have been conducted in Finland in 2020, 2016,2013, 2010, 2007, 2005, 2003, 2000, 1997 and 1995. Data within the theme livestock buildings and manure storages have been collected in 2020, 2016 and 2016.
