Agricultural Census 2020: Energy consumption of agriculture and horticulture 2020

• Agricultural and horticultural production consumed a total of 9 261 GWh of energy in 2020
• The most significant individual energy sources were motor fuel oil (2,859 GWh) forest chips (2,400 GWh), and electricity (1 567 GWh)
• Share on renewable energy in heat generation (wood and field biomass) was 55%.  
• Agriculture and horticulture consumed 3 percent of Finland's total energy consumption.
