Egg Production Statistics, Q2 2017

In January-June 2017, year-on-year:

• 37 million kilos of eggs were produced during January–June, which is 4% more than during the corresponding period of 2016.
• The volumes of eggs produced in barn- and free range hen houses increased (+17%) and organic eggs (+18%), while the volume of enriched cages declined (-2%).
• 59% of eggs were produced in enriched cages, 35% in barn- and free range hen houses and 6% came from organic poultry farms.
