Organic crop in 2017

The total organic cereals harvest for 2017 – 95 000 tons – was 19% higher than in 2016, which accounts for 2.8 per cent of the total cereals harvest in Finland.

• The production of oats increased by 11 000 tons to 59 000 tons (+23%).
• The production of wheat increased by 3 500 tons to 11 000 tons (+46%).
• The production of barley increased to 11 000 tons (+31%).
• The production of rye decreased to 6 000 tons (-25%).
• The production of broad beans and peas decreased by 40% and 47 %, respectively.
