First advance estimate of 2022 harvest, 15 August

The 2022 grain crop will return to normal, according to current estimates, after last year's crop failure. The oat crop estimate is above the 10-year average harvest, while the rye crop is instead falling nearly a quarter lower.

Anticipated crops for 2022 in Finland, 15 August:

• Grain harvest total 3.6 million tons (+38%)
  • Barley 1.39 million tons (+34%)
  • Oats 1.23 million tons (+56%)
  • Wheat 0.87 million tons (+29%)
  • Rye 0.07 million tons (+3%)
• Turnip rape and rape total 58,000 tons (+41%)
• Peas 89,000 tons (+109%)
• Broad bean 22,000 tons (+22%)
