Changes and corrections to Crop Production Statistics

This page shows the changes to the statistics from 2020 onwards and the revisions from January 2022 onwards, such as mergers of statistics and name changes. A correction is a revision to the content of a statistical release made after this release date. Major revisions will also be published in an additional release.

Correction of statistical data 24.11.2023

Crop production 2022

published on 23.2.2023

An error in the calculation of harvesting areas that affected harvest data for almost all s in 2022. The error concerned Harvested area (1,000 ha), Yield (million kg) and some crops also Yield per hectare (kg/ha) variables in the database in 2022. Depending on the crop species, the error reduced the yield of the crop species by 0-6.3 per cent. All tables in the statistics were corrected for 2022.

Change in statistics 16.3.2021

Crop Production Statistics

The organic crop statistics were merged with the crop production statistics (OSF, ESS) on 16.3.2021. The renewed crop production statistics make it easier than ever to compare organic crop data with total Finnish production and also with conventional production, and vice versa. Organic statistics as an independent statistic were discontinued.

Rationale: The reform harmonises practices, and in other statistics organic is a classifier, not a separate statistic.

In addition, the crop production statistics database tabulation was renewed in March 2021. In the renewed crop production statistics, harvest data for conventionally produced crops are also available as a new classification for all crops included in the statistics.
