Published 26.7.2011

Anticipated crops for 2011 in Finland, 15 July:

  • The anticipated grain crop harvest, 3.5 billion kilograms, would be 0.5 billion kilograms more than last year. The increase is mainly attributable to larger areas being under crop and a better yield per hectare.
  • Wheat is expected to give the best harvest ever, 960 million kilograms.
  • The rye crop will probably increase to almost 80 million kilograms.
  • With a 9 per cent increase on last year, the barley crop is estimated to be 1.5 billion kilograms.
  • The oats crop is estimated to be 1.0 billion kilograms, which is 23 per cent more than last year.
  • The cultivation area for turnip rape, decreased by 45 per cent from last year, is anticipated to yield 110 million kilograms.
